Before I decided to make authorship my life, I was on the path to becoming a doctor. I have always loved writing, but I never prioritize it. From the small city of West Palm Beach, Florida, I promised myself that I’d make something of myself and help my family. Of course, I wrote in my spare time and even made it my personal project in High School. Fast forward, I found myself in Birmingham, Alabama attending University of Alabama in Birmingham nearing graduate school. Facing the possibility of extreme debt, I changed course and graduated from the local state college with my AS degree. Taking some time off, I took off to California where I went to the Wattpad convention where being around like-minded people solidified my change in direction. Being there made me feel normal and capable. I didn’t feel alone deviating from my lifelong path to something that came naturally to me. After that I pursued anything writing, trying to get myself out there and out of that was my first poetry book, “S.T.E.M”. After much contemplation, I decided to follow my childhood dream and apply for the Creative Writing program at Southern New Hampshire University where I will be receiving my bachelor’s degree. My personal project became my first published book that was originally called Swirl but is now named “Worth It”.
